Pinewood Derby

Another year for the pinewood derby.  The boys have been really excited and have been working hard on their cars.  The boys designed their cars then Keith cut them out and sanded them.  Mont even got to make a car this year even though he won't turn 8 till August.  Keith also made a car for himself to race against the boys.

Kade racing his car.

Rand waiting anxiously for the cars to go.

When all the cub scouts were done racing and the results were in then all others who had brought cars got to race against the three cub scout champs. Rhet got to race Keith's car.  He was pretty excited.

Rand and Mont racing against each other.

Rand won every race he was in and when the cub master asked the boys who they thought won, several said Rand and Rand was like, "Yea, I know I won."  As it turned out he did win.  After they announced him the winner he then went into his victory dance.  It wasn't just a quick dance, it was a couple minutes long.  Keith and I were a bit shocked by how long his victory dance was and everyone else just laughed at him.

Kade came in 4th.

After all the cub scouts raced Mont got to race his car against the three champs-including Rand.  Overall Mont came in 3rd with Rhet (Keith's car) coming in 2nd. So with that we have Rand 1st, Rhet 2nd, and Mont 3rd.

This is Kade's last year for the pinewood derby as he will be a boy scout come August, but Mont will enter Boy Scouts.  By the time Rexx enters Boys Scouts there will only be one year that Keith doesn't have to make a car.  That means another 10 years of making cars.
